Not recently.
I'm guessing there was a musical difference then, otherwise you wouldn't go to the trouble each time?

I think the goalposts may have moved!
Does everyone reboot, then manually power cycle the DS after a software change? I never normally do it, but after an upgrade failed (4.11.1) my device wasn't showing in Konfig.

Gents, I appreciate if we can focus on firmware performance test results in this thread. Please start new threads for other subjects. Thanks. Any feedback on the latest one - 4.9.7? Hi Music Lover I only have 4.1.10 and 4.9.7, so have only compared those side by side. I prefer 4.9.7 on my system an...

Maybe I've spent too much time in bands/studios to understand the black art of hi fi. Musicians aim for a 'sound' they like with their individual instruments, to create their own signature, but when it comes to recording or playing the only things you can't have an opinion on are tuning and timing. ...

Update time. The last few months have been rather busy work wise, and I've also had my in laws staying for a while. Listening has therefore been limited and the music has been at the 'nicer' end of my collection (acoustic, female vocals, small scale jazz, latin american, etc) and at a far lower volu...

Thanks hcl I'm not sure what software version I was on when my system was set up, but I'm on 4.1.10 at the moment, so perhaps proving you right as I feel 4.1.10 is quite different from others. When I have some time I may try fine tuning the system to see if there is anything to be gained, but I have...

Hi guys. I've been really busy so haven't had time to contribute for a while (although I've been dropping in to see what's going on) but this thread, and particularly tokenbrit's comment on set up have struck a chord. Unless everyone's set up is fine tuned using the same software version, then we a...

I had a feeling this section had seen a lot more activity of late. Reading a thread on the Linn forum, it would appear there are new restrictions placed on the 'For Sale' section of Pink Fish Media which *might* explain this. Apparently, PFM were subject to some scams and are trying to limit this b...

If you look at Fredrik's obsession with signal preservation in the Tundra design, I would imagine he would relish the opportunity (challenge) to eliminate the passive crossover from a speaker.

Are we witnessing the birth of a 'future classic' ?

Congratulations Fredrik.

A decent Majik set up will outperform a sloppy Klimax one, but that's no good when there's a designer showroom to pay for! There's truth in that, but at the same time: A decent Klimax set up will make the customer understand how much more enjoyable it is than a Majik set up. Right? Thankfully there...

It was totally different in the 80s when the dealers were highly dedicated and spent a LOT of time tweaking the systems in their demo rooms and swiftly passed this knowledge to customers. I have the same impression, though I do not have as much experience of different Linn dealers, in different cou...

Linn Silvers

Hi guys

Selling a 3 metre pair of balanced Linn silvers with Neutrik XLR's (made up by Linn NZ). Only 7 months old. I've moved my hi fi so I need to get a 6 metre pair.

250 GBP/300 Euro, I'll ship them worldwide at no extra cost.

Cheers

Very keen pricing. At today's exchange rate ($NZ) that's about the same price as a Majik 4100!

Congratulations Fredrik.

Thanks flatpopely. I've never really listened to needle drops before but that is a real eye (ear) opener.

How far are the 140's from the back wall? One of the disadvantages of modern speaker design is that they seem to suit being further away from the back wall (slim, ported boxes). You may be suffering 'time smear' in the bass region. I don't know what the distance is - I am happy to rely on the Tune ...

Hi Charlie

Just a thought, but wouldn't a pair of 109's give you the best of both worlds in your main system?
