Re: Tune Dem of Headphones

Yeah, I know what you mean. But I found both the SR125 and the SR325 to be a little too bright and bass shy compared too my PS500e, so it may be a good thing.
You can actually fit the larger G cushions to the PS500's, but I don't know if it's possible for the SR125's.

Re: Tune Dem of Headphones

I only feel the pressure of my PS500e's after a few hours, but then again, they have the L cushions and the SR125e's have the S cushion. Another factor is if you wear glasses or not and the size of your ears. It might also be an option to replace the standard cushions with one of these: https://www....

I'm reopening this thread, in case someone has found the optimum torque values for tweeter and bass units by now.

The Catsnake is not bad but the microconnect is better, I need to try the Blue Jeans Cables.
Clips of that would be very interesting :-)

And I absolutely agree with Fredrik here; I haven't heard one "audiophile" pressing, that plays the tune better than a good original pressing. Most of the time, the sound isn't better either, in my experience often worse.

Re: English Electric 8Switch (Audiophile Network Switch)

The findings on the RA switch versus the Cisco are nuanced, but I find it interesting that he rates the Cisco well above the Netgear, although it is not clear which GS108 version is involved, nor whether the Cisco power supply is standard. The Cisco has a built-in power supply, I doubt he has chang...

Re: Going AKTIV on Linn Majik 140’s

Well, you definitely need to do something about the source and Anthony's advice sounds good. But do get the DS/1 with the new front. Later you can upgrade the DS to Katalyst and get something quite a bit better. Alternatively you could get an Akurate DSM (which can later be upgraded to Katalyst)to r...

Has anyone compared the 7.1 to the Gaio 2.4 and found similar differences? I am gearing up to buy a new slipsik but after reading this, I'm a little hesitant. I did a comparison back in February of the Gaio 2.4 and Slipsik 7.1 and wouldn't hesitate for a second in choosing the Slipsik, it's definit...

Re: Magnum Dynalab Antenna and Ekos/1

Last week I was finally able to install the new MD ST-2 antenna, and it's a really great improvement over the previous antenna. A small suggestion to all:

When posting here we could pick out a favorite track among the latest records and promote it with a youtube link or the like. It will make it easier for us to be inspired and get into music we did not know about beforehand. :-)
A very good suggestion :-)

For what it's worth, I've never heard underwhelming Keltiks nor Briks that lack bass. Maybe a nice pair of Komris is the way forward?

I prefer clip 2 and 3 (1 to 4 from top to bottom).
I'm with Beck on this one. I like the shuffling beat more on clip 3 than on clip 4. The chord changes seem much more obvious on clip 2 than on 1 for the Amy Winehouse track.

Very nice, must be sounding incredible! This may seem like a strange suggestion coming from someone, who also has the LP12 in a corner (no room elsewhere): have you thought about switching the position the two racks, so that the LP12 moves out of the corner? Might be an improvement.

Since my turntable is officially completed (for now anyway), it's time to install the MD ST-2 antenna. I just got to scrape up the energy...and realize the tuner will never sound close to the Sondek.
