Re: Hi, new member

Interesting and rather cool looking system. It also looks like a lot of work. Welcome to the forum.

Re: The heart of the Domesticaone home system

That looks like the old milk crates we had here, a couple of which I still have. They are a bit dirty but maybe I should clean a couple up and give them a try. They would be handy for taking LPs to shows.

I'm sure that upgrade will make you very happy. Along with the Slipsik 7.1 that is quite an improvement to the analog front end. Have fun.

Re: Speaker Choices for Lejonklou amplifiers…?

You might also want to check into the speakers from JM Reynaud out of France. I used their top unit, the Orfeo Grande, at the Axpona Audio show last year and many felt we were making the most musical sound at the show. Fredrik and I were quite pleased with how the system was sounding once it settled...

Re: Linn 50th Anniversary

This hasn't been commented on in a while but I thought I'd put in an additional word or two. I am not expecting to see the Utopik for Radikal this year. I put my money where my mouth is and recently ordered a Radikal2 for my second LP12 instead of waiting for Linn to add the Utopik. The latest word ...

Re: Speaker Choices for Lejonklou amplifiers…?

I think you need to be aware that the 242s were completely different animals depending on which version you listen to. Also, despite numbering to the contrary, there were actually three different versions of the 242. We got them into the store shortly after they came out and I can only describe the ...

Re: The death of K400

It’s K400, no matter what name you print on shrinking tube. I’d rather put some effort in making them look a little better: mesh weave helps But that’s my opinion… no offense Hi Sopper, I understand your take on it and I did think your cables looked interesting. As to the name, while it is certainl...

Re: The death of K400

Now I'm not going to guarantee the results as I haven't tried it with Lejonklou gear. However, it was said that you were better off with long preamp to amp cables and short speaker cables with Linn electronics and I can state that I found it did work in several circumstances. Both Linn and Lejonklou...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Very nice upgrade! Yeah, the Källa is still surprising in how close it comes to an LP12. You might want to try taking the dust cover off when playing the LP12. I find it more musical that way.

Re: The death of K400

Interesting development. Not really a surprise, I think it's been on the cards since the death of K600, which meant that 3 way speakers needed a split cable to run aktiv, and the market has certainly shown a willingness to pay a higher price for cables than K400/600. I'm glad that I have a couple o...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

I'm with David on this. I find B more musical on all three tracks. I did notice that Bourée sounded a bit muted on both tracks. Initially I thought it might be a finger partly covering a mic but the tracks looked too steady to be handheld. Nice variety in the tracks.

Re: How to: add a RELt5i to the tundra 2.2 Tarandus via hi-level connection

I don't believe you can use a Y-cable between the outputs of a Tundra stereo unless you want to turn it into a mono amplifier. I expect Fredrik will correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Tundra monos driving subwoofers?

It's really going to depend on how efficient the subs are and how loud you want to drive them. I drove an 18" JBL 4645C subwoofer in conjunction with the 3677s I had for several years. Fredrik and I also used that setup at a Rocky Mountain Audio Fest with great results. I was using a single subwoofe...

Re: stevan's studio system

That's quite interesting. I've never heard the Larsen speakers but I have wondered about them. I curated a system for one of my brothers that I put together as a very iconic retro system from the 60s. For that system I found him a pair of Sonab oa116 which I substantially refurbished. The Larsen spe...

Re: The heart of the Domesticaone home system

That appears to be a very nice system. I also have yet to hear the Klangedangs but Fredrik and others speak highly of them. The records leaning against the side remind me of the similar stacks in my room except mine lean against a record cabinet that I need to reorganize to fit more of them in.

Re: stevan's studio system

Very interesting looking and sounding system, Stevan! If I remember correctly the DV turntable is a custom version of a Well Tempered, which seem to be good turntables. I think you will find people here more open to different kinds of speakers and more interested in how well music comes out of them....

Re: Sagatun and Sagatun Mono

Thanks a lot Tony That sounds really interesting indeed. In a bit longer perspective, my next upgrade may very well be going MC, from Adikt/Slipsik 8 to Krystal/Entity for my Akurate-ish LP12. But that's quite costly, so doing the upgrade of the Sagatun in the meantime sounds logical. I like to do ...

Re: Sagatun and Sagatun Mono

I have now perfromed a fair number of the 1.7 upgrades to both Sagatun Mono and Sagatun stereo units. The improvement is significant and easily worthwhile. Currently I have four customers who I did Tundra Mono 3 upgrades for and I offered them Sagatun Mono 1.7 upgrades to make their systems as music...
