Re: Sneaky leaves his digital comfort zone.

Interesting and good luck with dipping your toe into vinyl. As to your questions: I am really interested in Lejonklou´s products. Should i aim for a completely new build with Lejonklou or does it incorporate itself well into Linn electronics? Take your pick, Lejonklou electronics do integrate quite ...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

Always preferred teak isobariks, having heard several black and many afromosia. Very interesting anthony. Something with the properties of the wood used maybe? Stiff and light? Teak is more colorful than black! ;-) Since the wood is just a veneer, it would be hard to imagine it having much effect o...

Re: The Mighty AT95E Becomes The AT-VM95E

Actually, I was gone before the K series cartridges came out in 1986-88 and I was had left by the end of 1984. I'd be interested to know what torques you ended up with on the VM95. We are now a dealer for Audio Technica as they finally set up Hi-Fi dealerships in the US so we are stocking the C and ...

Re: New Linn Majik LP12 tonearm (again)

I didn't put this up here in case Linn had embargoed it. It didn't say they had in the newsletter but it did mention that it will be launched in November along with more information, so I erred on the side of caution. The arm is not exactly the Satisfy. Linn says it is based on it but "has been modi...

Klimax Solos or Tundra Monos would be more musical than the 3200s. Also more cohesive.

I have to vote for B as well. I didn't hear the earlier versions and I don't know what I am comparing now but B is more enjoyable to me.

Very interesting article, Ron. I wasn't even aware of all that Linn history. I agree about David Williamson and he did indeed create the Kandid and the Krystal. I believe the Keel and Ekos SE as well since he has been with Linn since 2000 and the "SE upgrades" came out in 2007.

As perfection doesn't exist on this plane of existence, each Kandid, each Radikal, certainly each plinth and even each Keel will sound a little (or sometimes a fair bit) different. That's what led to my misunderstanding. If each one can sound sometimes a fair bit different I assumed that small adju...

Re: The Mighty AT95E Becomes The AT-VM95E

This may or may not factor into this discussion, but I thought I should note that different companies often use different modulation levels on the record for their output level specs. This makes them often much harder to compare.

Re: Karousel

As Fredrik has covered the vagaries of torque, and more often the lack of them, there is not much I have to add. I do imagine the confusion that lead to the FairPlayMotty post is that there can be different torques with different sub-chassis. So the torque to fasten a Cirkus is different on a steel ...

Re: Liquid stylus treatments on Kandid.

It's not controversy for me Fredrik. I simply reckon all those long term diamond tip manufacturers know you can use the type of abrasives Linn recommends. Not one recommends any abrasive as far as I can see. Linn paper is just like the very mild abrasive paper jewelry makers use - but at a premium....

Matteo, considering the last five records you've bought, I'm starting to wonder if you are trying to buy my whole record collection! (Although I don't have the Bryan Ferry.) Lots of great music there.

I was quite pleased to see the review. It has been coming for a while and you can see how much David loved the Boazu. I didn't realize it would have as much about things like SINGularity and the various things Fredrik does to make quality product. David and I have talked several times on the phone a...

Re: Liquid stylus treatments on Kandid.

Linn does say that Lyra SPT is OK on the Kandid (and Akiva and Arkiv B) but not the cartridges with aluminum cantilevers (Krystal, Adikt and most older Linn cartridges). I have not tried SPT but since Lyra makes it and the Kandid, as moomintroll mentions, it should be safe. For balls of fluff I use ...

The mugs have arrived! They look quite nice and all survived the trans-oceanic trip without damage. That the despite the written warnings not to drop, etc. which most US shipping companies seem to take as a request to do just that. Now I just have to figure out how to package them individually or in...

That's very cool. I'm glad I could be a part of it. Since a few of my customers asked if I could get some in and forward them on I went whole hog and ordered 16. Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

I haven't listened to the Henley piece yet, but the piano piece was easily better, more forceful and moving along nicely. I'm pretty amazed buy the sound you are getting out of that old, $500 CD player. As I was listening the bass came in and then the music stopped. I thought "Why did the music stop...
