Re: Home Network tweaking (was 'Buy or Rent')

Using a top quality router and rack switches is a great starting point. As you're no doubt aware the ISP routers don't cut it. Are you using a Synology router? I'd like to get some tips on which routers our members are using and if there are any particular settings or layout that you find preferabl...

Re: SSD more musical than HDD!

On evaluation criteria I also use the 06:45 method. Which just happens to be? If I'm still listening from well before midnight to 06:30 any change I made exhibits musicality. That's a funny name, but it isn't the Tune Method. I have many times stumbled on interesting sounding circuits that seem ver...

Re: kikkin 2.2. stopped playing (help!)

Hello Willem! This is strange. I recently said that I can't remember any fault happening to a Kikkin, but now suddenly two appear to have broken at almost the same time. Yours is the second. Yes, of course you can ship it to Uppsala for a check. Just make sure you have tested it thoroughly first. Do...

I don't count David Williamson as an old hero, he joined decades later.

The Keel, Ekos SE and new MC carts are certainly amazing achievements and I have the deepest respect for his knowledge.

Linn's headquarters have the lowest seismic reading of anywhere in the UK. Linn's headquarters are around thirty miles from my home. Re: Linn Nexus LS250 Revisted

That was a joy to read, Ron. Thanks! I've always been bored by Rod Crawford's stories from his years at Linn. That he doesn't understand Tune Dem or what Linn were originally about is just too obvious. He's a typical loudspeaker engineer who thinks the frequency response is a key parameter, while fo...

Re: Lejonklou Boazu Integrated Amp

I adore the Boazu, bringing everything into one box at such an affordable price is imo a crowning achievement. Do you have any plans for another integrated or will you simply keep it evolving via upgraded versions? Thank you Discodave! Not really sure about another integrated. Making one that is le...

Hello Discodave! I need to refer you to Thomas O'Keefe with your request. He got me into using a torque tool and ever since he's been the head of a small torque group, where we collect and share values of various fasteners. For the value for a specific fastener, you can always simply ask here on the...

That’s interesting. Should we consider time, temperature and humidity variations, what was right in winter might need a visit in summer to recalibrate? Metal to metal may be stable although metal to wood maybe more variable in humid countries perhaps? Why not just set up enjoy as it is then visit a...

Thank you everyone for your congratulations! That's a glowing review but I've never agreed on the OCD part. It's all the rest of the HiFi manufacturers that don't care enough about the music ;) (Not including the ones who do.) I agree! One thing that mr Abramson gets wrong (yes, I know he's mostly j...

Won't the nm vary by deck as ThomasOK indicated previously? No torques on the LP12 vary with the deck, as far as I'm concerned. The fasteners all have their optimal (and suboptimal) peaks and they are not interdependent. I think the point ThomasOK made (I can't find his quote) was that each Keel, R...

Re: Liquid stylus treatments on Kandid.

I think only one boy needs to mind his manners. The video has the method. There are tons out there. The latest Spannko gotcha moment was the caveat at the end of the video. Anyone who doesn't take care when cleaning a stylus needs a new brain and perhaps a new stylus :) No, he is not the only one. ...

I think we shall be careful here. The products on the marked differ in quality. We have to be very specific on what is recommended. ....and treat each other nicely, please. After ThomasOk's post about the lower torque setting (page 21) I have made some recordings at 4.0Nm and 3.4Nm. I've also tried some other settings but 3.4Nm is the best sounding for me. Funny how the green paper keeps causing controversy. I've been using it since the late 80's and it works great. Never damaged any of my many styluses. Or anyone else's for that matter.
