Re: Netgear GS108T Power Supply

Here’s the latest version (Mk 6) compared to the Netgear smps. The only difference is that it uses a Texas Instruments TL780-12 instead of the TI UA7812C. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/uzi54nxb47dl303/AADLp4CXHJVIthwqBvdCtrGKa?dl=0 I don't know which is which, but number 1 is more tuneful to my ears.

Hello Willem!

Welcome to The Forum!

The answer is yes, the Lejonklou remote works with Kikkin. And your dealer in Amsterdam can sell you one.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

This is clearly a case of source first. In the "1" clips the whole system except the LS-Nas had the power cabels connected with reversed polarity and in the "2" clips only the LS-Nas had reversed polarity and still the most of you prefered the "1" clips. The "3" clips is the same as "2" with the LS...

Re: Netgear GS108T Power Supply

It’s good to know that it’s not about what’s going back onto the mains. No, in my experience this rarely accounts for the majority of the differences. It will, however, make SOME "noise" on the mains that can disturb other units. So the effect you mention is not Zero. To evaluate how much, let PS n...

Re: Netgear GS108T Power Supply

Yes, definitely. It’s really surprising how much of an effect the power supply to the switch has. So much so, that I’m wondering if all I’m really doing is finding a combination of components which injects the most musical (or the most complimentary, or even just the least) noise back into the main...

Re: Best cable match for a Majik DSM + majik 140 system

I saw some older post about splitting the K400. Do you basically unsheath the cable from the black outer casing ? So end result is having two thin separate cables ? No, you cut the cable in two halves. Each half contains a twisted pair of conductors. The black outer jacket should absolutely not be ...

Re: Tundra Mono’s - Trim meter

Hi William! No worries. It's a standard 9V battery (called 6LR61, 6LF22 or PP3) and to replace it you remove two screws on the rear side of the instrument. You need a thin screwdriver (with a small Phillips tip) because the screws are recessed into holes in the orange plastic. The battery change doe...

Re: Karousel

That's how Source First works, Matteo.

The closer to the source, the more fundamental the improvement is. But that doesn't change that fact that all the lesser improvements are also important.

Re: How good are phono stages in vintage Linn preamps?

I know this is an old thread but wanted to give my input. I have used a Lejonklou modified LK1 as a preamp. It was good with a raw direct sound. Lots of fun at that time. The LK1 was used with a AV5103 preamp and the rest have been used as phono stages with a Klimax Kontrol/1. From the LK1 I moved ...
