Re: Infrared Camera reveals how musical the Tundra Monos really are!

The video thing is beyond my capabilities, time factored in. Further observations are going to have repeat-ability issues. For one thing when the distance to object is decreased, the image improves in contrast, then the thing goes into an auto re-calibration mode. The main observation is how fast th...

Infrared Camera reveals how musical the Tundra Monos really are!

One of the toys I recently acquired for the boat is a FLIR Scout handheld thermal camera. Wanting to play around with it anyway, I thought about how I had heard about the heat generated when playing a record. So anyway, not much to the heat thing on the record. What I did observe was the Tundras hot...

Re: The New Lejonklou Streamer

In regards to syncing streamers, playing same music... Never understood the concept of syncing many players in the house. Why not use the best one and turn up the volume? Who want to listen to a less good reproduction, when you have one in next room? That was my take on it for years. I wouldn't wan...

Re: The New Lejonklou Streamer

Musical performance and ease of use are the highest priorities. Everything else, including multi-room, could happen if it's possible and worthwhile. Multi-room is a feature that went unused until recently. Wonderful when used, but the amount of time it gets used would never justify less musical res...

I have seen no mention of multi-room use for the streamer. Is this in the plans? Would it work with Linn DS's?

Re: SaltyDog's System

How do you like the new Boazu? Does it perform well with the 3677? I definitely like the Boazu as part of the system. Comparisons get really tough here with the logistics of integrated amp and speakers on one hand and active speakers on the other. I'd like to hear the Boazu and Kabers, but those ne...

Re: SaltyDog's System

A quick and simple update. I have been very busy and fortunate. Hope some of you remember me still. :) My main system is now LP12 Klimax SE, KDS, Lejonklou Boazo, JBL 3677 on Ofil Stands all setup by ThomasOK. Works in progress: Piano room has a piano disc system on a Steinway Baby Grand, accompanie...

Re: Latest DS firmware

Define TuneDem Define Quality Define Fun Tough things to explain, yet most know them when experienced. A question if I may, the silent repetition - what is the time between hearing and repeating that is used? I am not a self proclaimed expert and still have much to learn. This is place where that ca...

Re: Latest DS firmware

Once again time restraints have me limited, so take this with a grain of Salt(y). The 350's setting is differnt to the Akubariks. Did not take much to go back to the 350's. Wondering if the ATC 100s setting will be better. Also when and if there will be a choice for 50's. It is the bass driver that ...

Re: Latest DS firmware

Not enough time at home these days.

I have SPACE set up for 350's and my room is anything but symmetric. I am not turned off by it so far.

Not much of a contribution, other than to say it is worth trying it for oneself.

Re: DS firmware - what is the lastest on the most musical one?

I'm out of town right now. I likely have it on my NAS.

Have you checked Cymbiosis's website? Peter used to have many versions available there. I may well be behind the times though. Let me know if you still need it next week.

Re: Whither Tunedem, 2015

Air guitar, imaginary drum solos hitting the rim at exactly the right time, singing along without knowing the words, and all the other bodily responses to music that bring out the emotions occurring in time is a better Tune Dem. Silent repetition has a hard time without all these other things. I fin...

Re: DS firmware - what is the lastest on the most musical one?

Not to say I have taken the time for a real evaluation.

4.23.1042 is playing happily on mine. The newest was not better in any way.

I am kind of hooked on Tidal. This setup is as good as I have had with Tidal. Musically interesting and satisfying.

Re: Latest DS firmware

I have not been keeping up with all the development lately.

Do all you have speakers that are on the list in Konfig?

My ATCs are not and I have done none of the messing about with any settings.

Curious if some speakers are responding better than others.

Just reporting my impressions, not having made a comparison.

Davaar 25 is flat and lifeless.

Davaar 23 (sorry which version is not available atm) is much better musically on my system.

Watch how sound affects everything.

Feel a bit off posting a link to youtube, but this is relative to what we all share and enjoy.

To be honest I have not played a thing from the NAS since I started using Tidal.

To say It's like having a whole new record collection is an understatement.

As almost everything is new to me I have not found the fatigue issue that accompanies some firmware.

I give it a full endorsement.
