Re: Entity MC

Given a person with a 2003 Lp12, Lingo 3, Klyde, Linto,
Entity would be a reasonable upgrade from Linto?

Re: Linn DS players v Linn Unidisc

Are you primarily listening to CD, DVDA, or SACD?' With a DS player source material is up sampled and filtered by the Linn FPGA rather then the DAC itself. This is one reason any DS player achieves some level of sonic superiority over a typical Unidisk. DVD:a can be ripped and converted to FLAC, SAC...

Re: Linn announcements 9/2018, Selekt, etc.

The largest studio on our store has a fair bit of absorption and diffusion panels because it sounded like a racketball court when we got in there..... The company said that we didn't need any bass treatment because the room was really designed well in that aspect. We were actually very precise with...

Re: The Linn forum is officially dead

Good lord! Is very sad that years of invaluable information that was collected in the Linn Forum are no longer available. Agree A huge lack of respect to loyal customers that spent hours posting. I agree with both of you, there was an immense collection of information that is now lost. They could h...

Re: Linn announcements 9/2018, Selekt, etc.

Looks pretty radical to me? ps. Wow - adding pictures is tons easier than on the Linn forum!!! Yes looks radical. Linn seems to have a tendency to prefer thinning of the sound for more transparency. Not my cup of tea. Paul helped me a lot in getting the bass back into my system. Try the basic setti...

Re: Linn announcements 9/2018, Selekt, etc.

Is it my stupidity, but I cannot find anywhere in the new scheme of things to put in the height of the speaker stands, i.e distance from bottom of speaker to the floor. Anyone found this? Or do they now reckon this is not now significant. And, calculations will not work at all today.... Donuk sunny...

Re: Linn forum down?

Saw on the archived page that Linn forum have 26,294 registered members. That is a sizable amount of customer base to turn off. Maybe the forum moderator is on extended vacation? I guess there are a lot of spammers taking time to moderate apart from the regulars.

Re: Linn forum down?

Many other brands have rumor sites,
Canonrumors, Nikonrumors, Fujirumors, Macrumors etc.. If this continues we should perhaps start a Linnrumors site where we can speculate freely. Especially if the reopened forum will be policed.

Re: Linn forum down?

Regarding Dynamik for 2250/5125. I think if Linn resellers got together with Linn they could investigate what it takes for another Dynamik batch. Just like there was a batch of Solos dynamikiked after the initial offer expired. But Solos are current in produduction units so electronics will not run ...

Re: Linn forum down?

The Linn forum is an extremely valuable asset. No doubt is the value of the forum noticed inside Linn. They could have put a notice "not to worry" and "eta" so Linn junkies would not become nervous. Lejonklou Forum plays a similar part with a core audience that shares ideas. I believe it is a very e...

Re: Head to head.. who wins?

Hi, Right now I suspect you will find your 242 setup having a better tunefulness. It is also not without challenge to integrate the SUB with the speakers unless you are enable to place it directly adjacent one of your speakers and away from a corner. Given the input I believe the K320a+345 has the p...

I have compared and the difference is massive. I can only advice you to listen in your system with your data to determine what you prefer for each title available in both formats. Read the referenced link in the previous points for my thoughts. Am I right you are dol at the LF? Thanks Matt Yes! :)

Re: Upgrade: Katalyst or LP12

The only possible reasons for moving to KDSM are namely reduction in boxes, and putting other sources through the system with HDMI : Television, sky. But its an expensive choice. There is no straight analog pathway with the KDSM, all analog inputs go through both an ADC and a DAC. Matt There is no ...

Indeed. Imagine if all of their power amps started to come with built in filters, and the dealer could just apply a setting to change them to replicate any aktiv card made so far.
