Preamp - Exotik+DA with Dynamik For Sale

Silver Exotik + DA for sale. Fitted with Dynamik PSU, which Linn only offered for a short while but makes a big difference to the sound. Much better than Kairn as a stereo preamp, but also has the flexibility of digital connections and can decode Dolby Digital and DTS to 5.1 surround. £850 plus P&P ...

Although I'm also taking another approach and going to listen to the B&W P5 and P7 wireless phones soon too.

Re: Lightning or Wireless Headphones

I've ordered one of these through Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/991035804/accessport-hi-res-audio-amplifier-for-iphone-7-cha I have a pair of the same company's M4 earphones, which I find tuneful. Their "mission statement" is positive too, although it doesnt reference tunefulness...

Re: Tarandus

I have a Tundra 1.2 which I was intending to update to 2.0 at some stage. Would it make more sense to wait until Tarandus for Tundra is available, and then do both as one trip? If so, will there be a cost saving?

Re: Stereo Aktiv Cards and AV5125

Sean - just FYI, Linn never made stereo aktiv cards (the sort you would need for AV5125s) for the Kaber, although they did for the Keilidh. When I upgraded from Keilidh to Kaber, this forced me to get a Tunebox with mono cards in (and then change to a 6100 with chakra cards). These days, I'd probabl...

Interesting. I have a Tundra 1.2 and was musing about the idea of upgrading it to a 2.0 or perhaps replacing it with a Boazu. The thought that there may be upgrades available is very interesting....

No mention of any Tundra(s) or Sagatun(s) there...is this confirmation that Boazu is an integrated amplifier? :-)

Re: Lightning or Wireless Headphones

Thanks ML. Some good thoughts there. Yes, the adapter has a built in DAC, as Lightning is digital only. There's been some discussion of whether the iPhone 7 supports aptX but no-one seems to have given a conclusive answer yet. May need to wait until they actually start being delivered to find out - ...

Lightning or Wireless Headphones

Clearly, the iPhone is not exactly the greatest source available, but I like it a lot as a phone and mobile internet device, and it has some great apps which I wouldn't want to lose. I don't want to carry two phones with me, so it's my main source of music while travelling on trains etc. I've just o...

Sounds to me like you need to bite the bullet and install some cat5 (possibly external) and get rid of your EoM devices completely!

Re: Akurate 242 new base stands

I monitored most of the usual sites for about two years before deciding to just buy a set new when I moved house and wanted to form a relationship with a new local dealer. They don't seem to come up often, probably because they're such a good improvement!

Odd, must be something in the latest version of Chrome then. Not a major issue as Chrome saves my login details anyway, it's just one extra click before I get back to the "New Posts" page.

Thanks guys.

Re: Forum issues are discussed here

Has something changed recently in forum settings? For the last week or two I keep being logged out from my phone (not my laptop) and having to re-enter my username/password each time I visit.

Using Chrome on an iPhone (latest versions of both - well, iOS 9.2, not yet upgraded to 9.3).

I heard them at Anthony's a couple of years ago and was very impressed. Great little pair of speakers. If I didn't already have 109s for the library then I might well have bought a pair.

I'd also recommend keeping an eye out for a Unidisc 2.1 or 1.1 and selling the SC. 2.1s and 1.1s have been pretty cheap recently on eBay etc.

Thanks Fredrik. Sounds like a very sensible choice to use the same case for both Tundra and Tundra Mono. Certainly increases the batch size that you can order.

http://www.lejonklou.com/products/tundra/Version 2.0A Okay, thanks. I've missed that bit of info completely. This seems to have come in very quietly. First I've heard of it too. Fredrik, Azazello, it's a small point, but the red does come across as aggressive. Perhaps moderator posts could be...

Re: Speaker cable question

There's no such thing as "old K200" unless people manually split K400. K600 went out of production a while ago, so it's easier to get three lengths of K400 and split one to use as the extra pair if you need three channels. I'm not sure I see any benefit in choosing to split you K400 such that you en...

Re: Speaker cable question

Consensus on here is that new K200 is not as good as the old "K200" made from half of a K400. I would expect that a K600 would beat 3xK200 on that basis.
