Re: Källa is now shipping
I listened briefly on Källa some weeks ago. It had that quality to make you just continue listening and not jump to another track because you get bored. Fredrik had to go home so I couldn't stay. But Källa is special indeed.

I never thought the Tune Method would be mentioned when judging kitchen tools.

Re: Aptitlig Butcher's block?
Yes, but not in the kitchen ;-) We made a comparison of about 7 different types of shelves on a spiked stand and they were ok, but no more. The best ones were a lot better. That's exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks I'll buy one for the kitchen. Seem fine for that. :) And which shelves were the b...

Not the answer I was hoping for :)
But.....I'll try a couple myself and It's good to know they also serve another purpose if not in tune :)

Re: Harmonihyllan
Is there any consensus on the building materials if I go the DIY route? For example Ikea's kitchen Thick veneer worktops or laminate worktops. Or are lighter shelves preferable. I Know the only thing to do is listen and compare :) And that is what you pay for in harmonihyllan! I know. I'm just hopin...

Re: Harmonihyllan
I have the equipment in a small IKEA kitchen cabinet. I'm sure it can be improved upon :) Is there I middle road that is a significant improvement without buying Harmonihyllan? Something less costly and simple? If my return to hifi persists I suppose I will look at one Trud and three Oden shelves. I...
Re: Phase
I don't think you can say for which of the metal pins. However, if you connect the cable to the wall, you should have the live phase to the right at the other end. With ground up I suppose. Thanks! That's what I have now. 50% chance! Haven't compared though. It's the lower pin that should go into l...
Phase
Before Linn had a convention for live phase on the power cord. Which of the two metal pins in the picture of a power cord should be connected to live in the socket?

Re: Boazu with Majik140
Sounds logical, Fredrik! Best not tamper with the musical information. The human brain is evidently very sensitive regarding sonical information. NASA and other are experimenting with sonification of scientific data. Another way to experience and interpret data then traditional visual graphs and dia...

Re: Boazu with Majik140
Perhaps those sloppy peaks can be addressed by Linn space optimization? I tried it with my 109 but music was a bit worse than without and the bass level was lowered. I didn't experiment much though. Perhaps it's possible to neutralize the boominess of 140 without sacrificing the music. Anyone tried ...

Re: Boazu with Majik140
The 140 bass could sometimes sound slightly detached from the rest of the music and a bit diffuse at some frequencies. I can't say it ever bothered me much - I just appreciated the improvement when it came. With T2.5, the bass kept better time with the rest of the music and was a bit better control...

Re: Boazu with Majik140
And you are using 140's now :) or did you upgrade?
I've had 109's for a long time and they are mostly good. Occasionally they lack in bass. A lot of bass but imprecise is worse though!

Thanks for the input!
Charlie when you used Tundra 2.2, which I suppose is more comparable to a recent Boazu's internal power amp, in which way did the bass disappoint?

Boazu with Majik140
The 140 can be a bit imprecise in the lower bass. How is the combo Boazu with 140. Can 140 be tamed by Boazu? :)
I've had 109 with active 6100 in a medium sized room with a rather lean bass.

Akurate casing
2010 the Akurate range got a new more stylish casing. Are there any opinions wether the new casing in itself makes the DS's and 2200 amps better musically?

Not useless :) Enough to make me not go that way. I have no way to listen myself. Majik 140 doesn't seem to be a clear upgrade either from what I hear and read.
