Re: What do we find “at the end of the rainbow”?

That’s all we want isn’t it, just to enjoy music. If only it were that simple - we each have to find our own way there. You’ve been on quite a journey esp the last few years of CD player tweaking. Jus...

Re: Katan Stands

It’s always hard to make any absolute conclusions this side of the digital divide but that does drag a bit. It would have been better to just have a regular video and not a modern vinyl reissue but ev...

Re: Katan Stands

Yes, I also noticed the low levels when looking at them in Audacity. They were recorded with the Voice Memo app on an Iphone SE (1st gen.). How have you done your recordings, what Iphone model and ap...

Re: Katan Stands

Bolt down amps were made of panels bolted together with a screwed down lid. Can hardly hear clip 1 on my phone, but doesn’t sound like there are any major issues so hopefully just a recap is all that’...

They are not a bottleneck to my mind.

Never heard a SEAS modded pair.

Re: Katan Stands

I love all those bands. No wonder you still have the system you do ;). I would say 30 secs or enough to allow the song to get going for a bit. First time Anapeach replaced quite a lot including speake...

Re: Katan Stands

Not really since you have CB Naim. I’d stick with Kans unless you need a slightly fuller sound in which case I’d go for 42 or 42.5 with a 110, using 322/4 mm cards and leave out any snaps or hicap. Wo...

Re: Katan Stands

Hi Bipen, Kans and Katans are totally different. Kans (early or late models on Kan II stands) sound right with bolt down/chrome bumper Naim and pre-Cirkus LP12 and favour analogue recordings. They hol...

Re: Surprising systems

I think most people would be very surprised If listening to a system with : Rega planar 2 with AT95 Naim Nait 1 ( red light ) Kef C10 on stands. This is an example of a vintage system without any Lin...

Re: Lejonklou owners - what cables are you using?

You may be misremembering something I posted. I believe early on in the discussion of optimum length for K400 that I mentioned using a precise length was not unheard of. Nordost claimed that the opti...

Re: Lejonklou owners - what cables are you using?

No, I have never said that. Fact is that I can’t recall having had any such experience (that multiples of a certain length sound better than lengths in between) with any cable. What I did find was th...

Re: Lejonklou owners - what cables are you using?

I use Linn Silver ICs, but the cheaper black ICs might suit your system / ears better so I wouldn't rule them out. Watch out for dealer made pairs of either type as I'm told they won't sound anything ...

Your system does seem very good value (this end of the digital divide) especially for full range.

Re: 1986 Linn LK1/LK2

What about when the Kairn/Klout came out? Did everyone prefer that to LK1/LK280? To my ears, with LK280 to Klout you hear Linn stepping towards tunedem from foot tapping focus.
