Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Maybe you want to experiment with skeets. Not just with the speakers. Let's see how they work. For example under the rack, under the floor space, under the device, etc.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
OK Beck, you're sticking to your original impression. Since A = D. E did something for me, but it seems kind of wrong. So your preferred setup is (B,C) direct on shelf not using rubber pads at all? I would say yes. C touches me more emotionally again, especially at the beginning. And I sing along. ...

Re: upgrade path
Today I had the opportunity to hear an LP12 again. It was the Majik LP12 / Jelco again. The Majik LP12 / Krane was no longer in operation because the crane had a fault. The bad impression of the Majik LP12 / Krane last time is probably due to this. Also from the party was a Cambridge Azur 851 Amp, D...

Interesting that another piece of music leads you to the opposite result.
How is that possible?

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
That means, I was right with B.
B = C.
It is good to know that I am not going astray.
Or is it labeled incorrectly?

Fredrik, thanks for the clarification!
"The roller coaster of emotions is what you aim to experience whenever using the system."
Yes, that's exactly what I want to experience!

What are the advantages of a more tunefull system?

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
So I would try to tune the system so that the character (dance piece) and the mood (sadness) of the piece of music are preserved. So for me a mixture of A and B. I want to jump up to dance but with tears.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
It's a dance track and A had more dance, so that's my pick. B is lacking some of the forward motion and drive of the song. Yes, very obviously, that's how you can see it. But maybe you want to dance with tears in your eyes (B) I would like to go a little deeper using the A / B example. Could it be ...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I'll try to explain it a little. Listening to B made me feel melancholy. Listening to A lets me know that the emotion being expressed is not melancholy. I'm new to the playground and want to learn. I don't want to listen to and check it out again now. So I would say that was my impression. Does it ...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Interesting. When I listened to it for the first time, B seemed better. I felt the emotion stronger within me and the vibration seemed better. When listening to it repeatedly, I was able to hear the expressed emotion better in A. There is more expression in it, it also looks more precise. Now what i...

Re: upgrade path
Eli7, Do you think it’s a hifi problem or a music problem? Could it be that you’re fed up hearing the same old things and struggle to discover new (to you) exciting music? Just a theory... I am no longer so touched by music, new or old. I do not know why. Maybe I just need a break from all of this ...

Re: upgrade path
Yes, I will start over. Maybe again with a Nait 3R as a heart I loved this one. Just a thought. I think what I miss with all the systems is vibration. I call it that because I can't explain it better. They sound dead. For example, when a cello is playing it vibrates for me and I vibrate with it. Nai...

The problem is that in the past few years I haven't heard a system that moves me permanently, that has triggered the wow factor from earlier times. I have many friends and acquaintance...

Re: upgrade path
I had the opportunity to hear a new Majik LP12 / Trampolin Majik DSM4 / K200 on Majik 140. I was also able to hear the new Majik LP12 compared to its predecessor Majik LP12 / without Trampolin. The new LP12 sounded very nice, but was much less musically engaged. I had more fun with the predecessor. ...

now we come to text ;) I thought I should recommend to you right when you started the discussion that you might also think about the other option to go analog. But hesitated to write it. Here is my story: I have an ADS3 and was always reluctant to go analog. I thought there must be a way to have th...

Re: upgrade path
Back to the original topic. I couldn't make up my mind to buy a KDS3 and resell my M140 and MDSM for something cheaper to finance the source upgrade. A KDS2 would be within reach. I could then keep my M140 and use MDSM as an amplifier temporarily. Somehow I have the feeling that a Klimax DS2 has som...
