Re: Karousel installation warning

2.4 NM was Tom´s old recomendation for the bottom cap. The newest is 7.0 NM, so much more than the 3.4 or 3.5 NM for the upper nut. https://www.lejonklou.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=65382#p65382 I followed k_numigl recomendation, and i have to say it is worth trying. The "playing together" improves. S...

Re: Near mint Kandid

Hello,

would you consider 1300.-€ plus my old, broken Kandid (can be traded in) ?

Of course this only makes sense if you don´t have another Cartridge for trade in.
As far as i know trade in is 1190.-€ when buying a new Ekstatik.

Best wishes from Berlin

Re: LP12 Radikal problem

Is it possible to remove the Trampolin feet and use the old feet instead? As a trial? i use the old feet with the urika baseboard. i removed the trampolin feet completely. i had to take away a bit of the "nose" of the baseboard where the cables come out, because of it touching the table. the lp12 s...

Re: Karousel

update from may first post on the karousel three weeks ago (see below). i would definitly say there is a "run in" with the karousel. in the last week it has been getting better every day. when i first installed it i was not able to perfectly tune the sondek. for example i had problems "clocking" the...

Re: Karousel

my first impressions after one week with the karousel: 1. the karousel is way (better way way) better than the cirkus in all "hifi" aspects. sharpness, clearness, detail, decay of notes, separation. in this aspects it is like listening to a whole new turntable. the difference is such that if i had h...

Re: Karousel

hello hermann,
as you seem to be the first to acually open a karousel box:
- is a new belt included ?
- is the oil included ?
both not on the picture of the karousel kit.
i want to order and don´t know if i have to order these two things extra.
thank you very much

Re: Which is the optimal length of speaker wires?

"There is no such thing as "Linn solder" " ...interesting. I got it many years ago from a Linn dealer. He named it "Linn solder" and said he had gotten it from Linn for terminating speaker wires. I suppose he did not care to be very exact. As for finding the optimal tip temperature, I am not sure if...

Re: Which is the optimal length of speaker wires?

Hello Fredrik, thank you. I have been using the Knekts. I allways had to force them into the plugs but never thought this would be bad for performance. The Deltron 550 fit better, you are right. I have one pair lying around, don´t know where they came from. I have linn solder and a JBC BT-2BWA solde...

Re: Which is the optimal length of speaker wires?

Hello Fredrik, here in the thread on page 2 you stated: "While Knekts appear to have very little variation in size, banana holes can vary quite a bit (and on older Linn speakers such as Kan , Sara, Isobarik etc, Knekts don't fit at all as the holes are smaller)." Which banana plugs would you recomen...

Re: The Mighty AT95E Becomes The AT-VM95E

you are right Defender. Sadly I had a little less luck with my first one I bought used on ebay. The tool is ok but the lens is somewhat cloudy and the black line not very good to read. That makes it very hard to adjust correctly. marcel there is really no need to spend 200 Euro on the Sturtevant. Yo...

Re: Marcel Story

Marcel, What a great story and history! It appears you have the best sounding AT-VM95 on the planet right now. No wonder it sounds so good; you've already taken it to the limit. It's good to get positive feedback of my tracking and torque settings. Where is your café/bar? I'd love to have a drink a...

Re: The Mighty AT95E Becomes The AT-VM95E

Hello Ron, I have been torquing for a few years now (I visited linn forum quite regulary). Until recently I was using a Wera torque driver. It has a range of 1nm to 4nm but it´s very difficult to reproduce specific torque values, and the 0,4 nm for the vm95 is out of range. So I ordered two used Stu...

Re: The Mighty AT95E Becomes The AT-VM95E

Hi, I´m new here. Two months ago my second Kandid showed clear signs the stylus had reached his end of life. The silibances were very annoying. Because of lack of funds for a new Kandid I decided to try a new boron cantilever with new stylus for the old Kandid. It was clear it would take some time, ...

i´m new here but have had systems with subs for some time. ...the afekt also has line in and out: so you could try going from the pre out of the majik to the line in of the afekt and then from line out afekt to the power in of the majik (taking away the jumpers). furthermore the afekt has extra filt...
