Re: Hermanns System

Herbie Mann - Memphis Underground. They're musically close but A wins.
Take five. A is the winner.
Kari. A wins here too.

In all examples A is livelier and more enjoyable than B.

It's between A or C. I think I pick C.

Re: iPhone/iPad Directly to Källa?

"(an older TP-link which sounded worse than MR200)."
Fredrik, was the older model perhaps a TP-Link Archer C7? Because that's what I'm using now, and then I know a MR200 will be better.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

The Interconnect II is very good, and a step closer to the music compared to the model that came before it. I found especially singing to convey more emotion which is nice.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Fredrik, with this knowledge in hand do you think you'll be able to produce interconnects that's even better than Linn Silver?
If so then you'll have me and very likely a bunch of other people lining up to buy a pair!

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Without reading what others have answered I pick 3. Sounds like that's where the performance has its peak. IMO.

I prefer Clip A.

Is this analog vs digital where Clip A is analog?

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

I pick Brasso which seems to have the best flow of the 3.
Each clip is recorded a bit differently though so it was tricky to decide.

Re: Hermanns System

I vote:
Kari -B
Take Five -B

A is very good but B is some next level stuff. Almost magical!
Edit: Hermann, I'm curious how you find it to sound in the room.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

No. I meant when other brands have actually made something musically good. Still. Other brands best stuff usually lands below entry level Lejonklou. Hence my joke about the need for a new rating system. :)

Other brands posh nosh is just his starting point ;) We need a special Lejonklou rating system!

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

It's two different presentations where 1 is refined and 2 is more direct. Both are great though.

Edit: Isn't this the song that Paddy from the band Prefab Sprout really likes, and wished he’d written himself?

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Now when both files on the website are working like they should and can be streamed and compared, I instead prefer B.

It was only when listening to these files saved locally on my PC that I did prefer A. That was caused by Windows Media Player. After switching to VLC, B did win.

B didn't work unless I downloaded it so I downloaded both to get a fair comparison.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

Song 1: I prefer B.
At first I thought the timing of the bassdrum on B was lagging behind but that's not the case. B flows better than A.

Song 2: Again I prefer B.
B is much more melodic and it's rocking!
A didn't do anything for me.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

252 sounds less diffuse than 253, but 253 is probably still musically better. I find it difficult to decide though to be honest.

Re: Forum issues are discussed here

What if the first, or first few posts by a new member had to be approved by a moderator before going live on the forum?
It'll of course be clearly communicated to everyone signing up for a new account how it's working.
That alone should hopefully stop most people with bad intentions from even trying.

I like TheAlphaAudio. It's one of the few hifi channels on Youtube where they do notice when something is musical and can communicate the reasons why it's musical.

Re: Charlie1's System

They do sound more enjoyable but maybe you could try moving them out from the wall since they produce more bass now.
And are you connecting to the tweeter or super tweeter and what difference does it make if you try changing it?

Re: Charlie1's System

Charlie you probably already know this about the 109s but if not: There's a piece of foam behind the bass port and it's sometimes in the wrong position hurting the performance. Search the forum and there should be more info how to deal with it.

Re: Charlie1's System

Sorry I'm late to the party.
With that particular song Tukan is more enjoyable. Why did I even sell my pair?!

And congrats on getting the Nait 50. It's really rocking! I wonder how it compares to the original, and to the Boazu which is in a similar price range as the 50.
