I pick A.
B didn't work unless I downloaded it so I downloaded both to get a fair comparison.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Song 1: I prefer B.
At first I thought the timing of the bassdrum on B was lagging behind but that's not the case. B flows better than A.
Song 2: Again I prefer B.
B is much more melodic and it's rocking!
A didn't do anything for me.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
252 sounds less diffuse than 253, but 253 is probably still musically better. I find it difficult to decide though to be honest.

Re: Forum issues are discussed here
What if the first, or first few posts by a new member had to be approved by a moderator before going live on the forum?
It'll of course be clearly communicated to everyone signing up for a new account how it's working.
That alone should hopefully stop most people with bad intentions from even trying.

I like TheAlphaAudio. It's one of the few hifi channels on Youtube where they do notice when something is musical and can communicate the reasons why it's musical.beck wrote: ↑2023-09-08 07:36 A really interesting video! :

They do sound more enjoyable but maybe you could try moving them out from the wall since they produce more bass now.
And are you connecting to the tweeter or super tweeter and what difference does it make if you try changing it?

Re: Charlie1's System
Charlie you probably already know this about the 109s but if not: There's a piece of foam behind the bass port and it's sometimes in the wrong position hurting the performance. Search the forum and there should be more info how to deal with it.

Re: Charlie1's System
Sorry I'm late to the party.
With that particular song Tukan is more enjoyable. Why did I even sell my pair?!
And congrats on getting the Nait 50. It's really rocking! I wonder how it compares to the original, and to the Boazu which is in a similar price range as the 50.

The P2 is shockingly good and I rather listen to it than most digital sources. Perfect for a second system.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
Charlie, which one of the six do you prefer in room?
I wouldn't mind hearing the early Kans with option 6, or my runner up 3. Possibly it's not too difficult to change the speaker terminals to make that happen? Or that you use a piece of K400 and angled banana plugs to build an adapter of sorts.

I prefer 6. At first I liked 3 more but the bass is just not as tuneful. The K400 is also doing what I expected by letting more music through.

Is this really what Linn sounds like nowadays, or is it just examples of a bad setup?

Oppo player needs repair!
Hi!
My trusty old Oppo BDP-105EU is in need of repair and the official European Oppo support appears to be dead and gone.
Can someone recommend a good electronics repair place in Sweden that could do the job?
If they're known to repair Oppo players, that's even better.
Thanks.

1 flows better which makes it easier to hear what's going on in the music. As mentioned 2 feel a bit rushed.

"Now" is better than "Then" which sounds like the speakers are too close to the back wall.
Next maybe try and move them a bit closer together and hear what happens.

This time I prefer Black but there are other times I've liked Silver more. It's never clear-cut to me which one is best.
I have an idea. You should throw the Scottish made Silver version II into the mix and have them battle it out. Maybe you can borrow a pair from the local Linn dealer?

"I also got a pair of m109 stands to try." On the M109 stands make sure the top and bottom allen key screws aren't tightened too hard. Just turn them till they stop. No extra force needed. The spikes however benefits from being as they call it, Linn tight. Also make sure to keep the base spikes as ...

Re: More About Powering a System
I've been using the Deltaco GT-126 Rev3 with 6 outlets for the last 10 years or so. The Deltaco was recommended in this forum.
My question is. Should I replace it with the one mentioned from Clas Ohlson? And does its cable have any text that should go in a certain direction?

It's kind of funny how after some tweaks to the system Silver now wins.

I'm glad that you now can reap the benefits of the Silver. They're the cable equivalent to a very good and very revealing speaker.

Thanks for the reply Thomas. I own the version with slots released after the OG Silver and in comparison Silver version II is better. The music flows better and sounds more natural. If Black II does similar things that's good news. Besides the good news that it's now made in Scotland instead of Chin...

I prefer 1-B and 2-A. Seems to me you got a very good Black or a not so great Silver.
A follow up question to anyone who knows. Has Linn improved the Linn Black in let's say the last 20 years or so?
