Tendaberry I was not aware there is a DIY self kit available. The kit is around € 290,- per level, so not that cheap either. But it is available and as someone, who has followed the various developments of the Harmonihyllan, I know how meticulous Anders (the designer) is in selecting even washers a...

I find them relatively close but I prefer clip 1. Clip 2 is energetic but I'm not sure it is in a good way. Clip 1 just sounds more natural to me and I find myself drawn into the voice more. Hmmmm ..... I have the same feeling as you describe ThomasOK, BUT for Clip 2, that's why I prefer it ... May...

I already finished my rack yesterday which is a 3 layer spruce material (used because it was easily available and should happen to stay completely flat but it isnt.) I might do a recording tonight. But so far I am not completely impressed - that tells you how difficult it is. Spruce is good materia...

Re: Hermanns System

Hi Vlado, that's correct. The 552 actually has 2 RCA inputs. Tests a long time ago have shown that these work, but are clearly inferior to the DIN connections in musical terms. Also Naim itself rather recommends a DIN to RCA cable, which I hope to get today. Yes, Hermann you are right, BUT (:-)) yo...

Personally I don't care about how it sounds, only by how affected I am by the music. If a kitchen radio does that as good or better, then I'll listen to that.

Sorry, that's my mistake. It is of course configured as recommended. I did a short test but prefer as now. I'll get a Naim cable 5 pin to DIN between Entity and 552 on Monday , which are currently still connected with old silver cable. It is indeed, as I have learned, no longer manufactured. But th...

Sounding good, beck! Music is communication. Once the level of perfromance of the gear allows it to communicate at a high enough level whole vistas of musical genres you didn't understand open up. Isn't it lovely? I was able to understand and enjoy most genres of music with very low quality of gear...

I will also mention that my friend who had me swap his Giella ∏ in place of his Sagatun stereo, based on a short listen to a couple of rock and jazz pieces, has asked me to swap back to the Sagatun this weekend.
