Re: Absolute Bargains!

Give the little round B&O A1 a chance - it would not fully qualify as a "bargain" but close to it.

Re: Superkikkin

Superkikkin . I put this magic little amp in my ”second system”; replacing an amp from a well known brand. I was really happy with what I had, but got the opportunity to spend some time with the Superkikkin, and ...now music REALLY swings. And ”second system”? The order of systems suddenly turned m...

Re: Entity MC

Just a quick note:
I was lucky to get the Entity upgraded to 1.2 early on, and indeed it swings, especially in the lower end, as noted above.

Re: New cartridge needed!

But if Klyde is an option, this store seems to still have it in stock: https://taktoton.com/linn-klyde.html . I stumbled upon the Klyde while looking for some Linn gear in Dec 2021, before prices were raised.

For a not so traditional take on the Christmas songbook, listen to this.

Re: Lejonklou Tundra 2.2 Compatibility Question

Interesting... and very good to know, just curious... a couple of questions about those Grahams. What room size have you placed the LS5/9, and LS/5 in? And what kind of stands? I have been thinking about the LS5/9 for some time now... for a small room.

Re: Entity MC

Recently I went from Slipsik 7.1/Adikt to Entity 1.1/Krystal. A leap in the direction of more details, among other things. It is not that the setup I had before was bad in any way, quite the opposite, but well... at times it is nice to take a risk and try something new. After about four weeks I sudd...

Re: Latest records to enter your collection

This entered: https://shop.abbeyroad.com/Vinyl/*/Catc ... QDL00001RC .

A disappointment, somewhat dull... not as enjoyable as the scratchy used item I already had. Seems like I never learn not to look for remastered, or "special" issues.

Re: Spendor A4

Just a quick comment: my impression is that Spendor does not follow a strict upgrade path, I found the A4 (with Lejonklou Boazu) more musical than A7 or D9.2 (both more expensive than A4). I kept the A4:s for a second system, and enjoy them with a Majik DSM. I can only compare the A4 with 109 from m...

Re: Latest records to enter your collection

About pressings… I have purchased a few records from the ’hardcore maniacs’ at better-records.com. They listen, and grade records sonically. And sell. For example, I have recently been able to listen to Joni Mitchell's Blue sounding good for the first time. The price level at better-records is… fai...

Re: Slipsik 7

Upgraded the Slipsik från 7.0 to 7.1. Been with it for a week. It is a tough one to review, but the impression is that the 7.1 sings just a bit more. I have mainly enjoyed several recordings from ECM that I am very familiar with. I detect that ride cymbals and snare drums with brushes hits me as mor...

Re: Tune Dem of Headphones

Below is a link to Silvian at Beautiful Audio, and I would like to mention: he was giving good advice, asking relevant questions, and listening for the answers, and also did a follow up after I purchased the pads (all indicators of a serious dealer). For anyone who are happy with their Grados, and j...

Re: Tune Dem of Headphones

Just a comment… I have found the Grado SR325e useful over the years, yet underused because of comfort issues. But as I stumbled upon a third party upgrade of the pads, things have changed for the better. Silvian at Beautiful Audio (NZ) makes a variety of pads, he guided me to the merino/leather pad,...

Re: Slipsik 7

Three weeks running Slipsik 7 daily (goes with ”Akurate LP12” with Adikt) – went from the Gaio that was good but this is clearly an improvement. Huge ”3D-ish” sound. Verdict: highly recommended, enjoyable.
