Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

I didnt felt it like a competition but I know that I trust your ears - so your take is kinda like a benchmark for me.
And as I want to get more consistent with my opinion it helps me.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

hi Thomas thank you for bringing this up - I got real unhappy because when I heard the clips I also preferred option 2 the first round. Than beck wrote he preferred option 1 so I gave up. Maybe there is still hope?

Re: LP12 Radikal problem

you are right Charlie, my LP is still on a Lack Table but I got now inspired by light metal frame coffee tables which I would like to modify with spikes and an own top board. So far my Radikal is not installed and also my Ekos is still not back from Linn but I think I might not go with the small woo...

Re: LP12 Radikal problem

actually your question is interesting - as that was what I am asking myself But I don’t know however I have a feeling that the solid base and non touching radikal motor sounds better than Trampolin 2 with Radikal touching motor I am even ready to strip the feet of my Trampolin 2 of if its touching a...

Re: Quality digital music: Do You Buy or Rent?

I prefer ownership of my music as I fear the total running costs will be higher over 20 years timeframe with downloads. One drawback of the model I choose is with a free subscription you might explore music which you dont know more likely.

Re: Silver analogue interconnect

yes I did hear your clips Thomas and already liked the new Linn Silvers better - I only have one old pair of Linn Silvers so I really have no benchmark but I think my new Linn Silver has already surpassed my old pair of Linn Silvers

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

yes even though I don’t question anymore if the Karousel is really better - I think it really is. I am looking more forward to the comparison of the Linn Silver Interconnects - my Interconnect II is performing really great and I think it will become the new State of the Art even beating the first ge...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

I count that as a yes ;)

Isn't that interesting that with such a tiny change (wrong direction of a fuse) there is not much controversy here but with a big change like the Karousel there was much more difficulty to agree whats better.
I dont mean to bring this topic up again but it is somehow strange.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

thank you for all the feedback ... as already said I also prefer the Option 2 although the initial thought after turning the fuse was - “that also sounds good“ but than I realized it came together with less understanding of what is going on

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

Is it just me or is this is quite a common finding with comparisons . One option has impressive sounds but the other has better musicality and is more enjoyable. I agree its common however not always the case. I also agree with beck that this is the main reason why many develop their systems in the...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

I might do another recording tomorrow to show how just turning the fuse to the other direction is going to screw up musicality. The fuse is about 8-10meters away.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

thank you for your feedback - thats also what I hear ... but I am still impressed how clear your statements are as I found it more difficult to decide when I was listening to my own recordings.

Option 1 was the regular power distribution
Option 2 is the dedicated Hifi power distribution

Re: Playground for practical listening exercices

here is a new comparison - as there is some discussion about a dedicated power supply for the hifi here is a comparison between a dedicated one versus a normal one. The Hifi one is on a dedicated circuit breaker with a fuse (not automatic) has a 4mm2 cable and only one power socket ... I am not able...

I hope you find what you want but keep in mind that finding a 6.1 used and than upgrade it will bring you close to buy a 7.1 new. I am sure you are going to be positively surprised with your first Lejonklou product.

sure - its as close to the source as possible and since my Ekos II is still at repair at Linn I can run it in 24/7 with my Akurate DS connected to the Sagatun before it will connect the Entity later ;)

Hi Hermann, I was trying to put myself into your shoes with reading all advice given. I know a little bit more from yourself and what you already tried which in one way or the other is what others recommended. However I was than going through your options: 1 With the system in the hall, i.e. one flo...

Re: Are NBL's an adequate replacement for the briks?

hi Hermann,
what I would recommend is to reach out to Ron The Mon first - I think I read somewhere that he is confident that the Briks can throw out a lot bass energy.
You need to be sure that you dont run into the same issues with new loudspeakers because of your room situation.

Re: LP12, Router, Nas and much more

if you look at the photos I linked in the grey T-Kable discussion you see a screw which is used to fix the arm cable plug to the arm column and that is the arm cable set scew.
