Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

is there a reason why you record it with audiacity? its much easier to do with a phone and we are used to it.
... at least there is a 50% chance that your felt mat is on the right side (or on the wrong side depending how you look at things)

Re: Karousel

Playground for practical listening exercises is two threads below this one
we put recordings there and other forum members can help with deciding what is more musical
btw I checked LP12bits.com and they have a Cirrus chassis available

Re: Karousel

its more that Cirrus bearings are now widely available but you can check LP12bits.com they might have something for you.
I would still compare your mat to the felt mat and record it to put it into the the playground.

I’m just about to try another little Defender trick, hopefully some clips next week.
there are enough shops in Germany which have that strip for sale. It was a different one than the one linked.
Courious to hear your clips.

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

I got hold of 2 new Naim Music Line powerstrips which I bought with the hope of getting one which has the I-Sheng cable with text and ... I got lucky - both have them with text so in some days we have the chance to compare „against text“ with „with text“. BTW those ones have the sticker from the oth...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises

here is an update about the Music Line Power strip I got in touch with the company which sold the strip to Naim (I thought of a group/bulk buy or even better a modification with a shorter 1,4m cable and with text) - the answer was the product is not available anymore. However they told me they have ...

Re: Hermanns System

my take on that: First: keeping in mind the Entity is still low on hours there is likely a small improvement still to expext. Second:Fredrik might offer upgrades on the way if he finds something out which is unlikely for the Naim. Third: if its even than consider the resale value of the Naim - you m...

@Fredrik when I mean warm up than I mean playing music so it should be fine with the one hour which was actually even a little longer. @Spannko its the cheapest MusicLine Netzleiste which sells for around 49,-Euro The rest of the system is LP12, Akurate Radikal, Krystal, Entity, Sagatun Stereo, Pass...

so let me solve the power strip „battle“ Power Strip 1 = Naim Music Line Power Strip 2m Power Strip 2 = Clas Ohlson Power Strip 1.4m the Naim Music line has an I Sheng cable attached with marking against text and 2m it was running in about 48h when I took the recordings - not quite the time I consid...

great to have you commenting on the clips - much appreciated and your opinion is much valued yes my LP hold me back at first my Ekos and than I started to be clever and optimize the bounce which was going into the wrong direction and now I am waiting for a jig to fix it - so its not performing as it...

Re: Hermanns System

mmh your conclusion of the Entity being bright and what you wrote about the bass let me ask if this is a new device or if it run before. Mine stabilized after 75h playtime (not just powered on) till that time it was changing - sometimes better - sometimes worst. After 75h it continuously improved. I...

Re: Karousel

my bet is that I would rather live with the outer platter not matching the inner platter completely (flat/even) than replacing the felt mat with something else.

My advice to you is record the difference and put to the playground without letting us know which is which.

Re: Culprit - The phono stage?

here is my advice if the dealer service is free of charge for you - take it. There is still the chance he knows what he is doing and all is fine. Next steps can be decided afterwards. If its not better consider buying a jig if you are into the LP12 it will not be the only time you are happy you have...

Re: Culprit - The phono stage?

hi BSilviuLuc, if you have a good LP12 dealer close to you than you are a winner. The issue is many dont have the perfect skills ... like Thomas has. To compensate for that they would need the time to set your LP12 up perfect ... which they also dont have. Plus they need to have the ears to hear if ...
