Re: GIGAPORT HD/HD+

Sopper bought an ESI DAC with 24/96 support and less inputs a few months ago. It was a discontinued model but I don't think he posted any reports of its sound quality. The ESI Dr. Dac Prime Sound is (subjective) exactly the same as Gigaport HD+. Plays in 192/24 and that’s what I wanted. That sounds...

Re: Questions of a newby to Lejonklou..

Source > Preamp > Poweramp
We use this order in importance for upgrade path and most impact on musicality.

But i do agree and admit that getting rid of DVC from the source and go analogue preamp will be the first step to make and will net you the most. (You won’t believe it, until you have done it)

Re: Debian 9 Stretch

Jean Francois Dockes, the Developer of UPMPDCLI, confirmed my suspicions... Sins 2 days Qobuz has removed all entrances to their service via Linux api. Their github where they maintained the Qobuz api is empty... and I am unable to connect to Qobuz; getting error 801. So as for now, no more Qobuz wi...

Re: Debian 9 Stretch

I wouldn’t advise manual building from source; a lot of work and stress to figure out how to get the right dependencies.

Short route is to upgrade Debian to “Buster”, which is quite easy to do, or start fresh with Buster installation usb stick.

After more variations, I've got it to sound the best it has yet. I'm finding MPD 0.20.21 the best sounding version.
0.20.21 serious? Or typo?
I take that back. 0.21.xx is better. I was distracted by some "sound" qualities, not musicality.
Thanks for the feedback and confirmation.

I think mpd is already doing the converting, which is why it's stuttering. It has to get down to 16/44.1 to be output
I don’t think the stuttering is caused by mpd downsampling, because all ESI users should run into the same stuttering and that ain’t the case.

Re: Debian 9 Stretch

Mpd will run as current user if no user is present in the mpd.conf file. The mixup is caused due to taking 2 different pieces from guides and put together. I recommend to put # for user and group in mpd.conf, so mpd will always run as current user. I don’t think priority settings impact performance,...

Re: HAKAI NAS

NETWORK (modem/switch/router/) > CAT cable > 1st LAN port NAS >2nd LAN port NAS > CAT cable > LAN port HAKAI streamer Thus, the HAKAI is only connected to network/lan/internet via the NAS and directly to the NAS. https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/topic/30376-a-novel-way-to-massively-improve-the-sq-...
