BiWire cables into single wired speakers

I am considering new speakers, but some of them on my shortlist only have one set of terminals for single wiring. I currently use biwired Nordost flatline cable which goes under the carpet, and there is no option or desire to attempt to change this. I also no longer have the manual dexterity to atte...

Re: Small top quality floorstanders

I'm not particularly after something really small, but something no larger than the Linn M140.

Re: Small top quality floorstanders

Have you seen a photo of one anywhere in Walnut? I don't like the colour in the official photos at all; looks very artificial.

Re: Small top quality floorstanders

I'm thinking of paying Brian and Trevor's a visit in the near future. Have your Graham's shown a significant improvement over your Linn speakers? I've now got a pair of Tundra monos and with the KRDSM/E found a significant improvement over the previous setup.

Re: Small top quality floorstanders

The Graham Audio LS5/9f looks interesting and appears to be about the right size. Amazing lack of info on it, even on GA's own website.

The Spendor's do seem to tick all the boxes. I'll have to take a listening test.

Re: Small top quality floorstanders

I have looked at 242s for some time, but have never found a pair that are in mint condition, i.e the same as they looked the day they first came out of the box. That is very important to me. It has never ceased to amaze me that more people do not look after their very expensive speakers more careful...

Small top quality floorstanders

I have now (I hope) completed the upgrading of the front end and middle components in the shape of KRDSM-E and Tundra Solos. I am using M140 speakers with upgraded stands and am in no hurry to replace them, but I do like to keep my eye out for a second hand bargain. But what? Obviously I would only ...

Re: Shipping used Lejonklou Equipment in UK

I agree there is such a massive advantage to using RM Special Delivery. I am now thinking of trying to find a box where the original would fit inside. It's such a pity that RM isn't a little more flexible in it's size limits.

Re: Shipping used Lejonklou Equipment in UK

I'm sure somebody must have actually sent a Lejonklou 48" square box by courier. Who was it and how much?

Shipping used Lejonklou Equipment in UK

I guess the question of how to ship hifi has raised it's head before, but I can't find an answer. Any Lejonklou kit I have owned has a box that is 48cm square, but Royal Mail Special Delivery has a maximum size of it's second side of 46cm, and it seems there is no flexibility on this despite being w...

Re: Possible Upgrade

With so much conflicting advice, I decided to take the plunge and get the KRDSM and the Tundra solos. I'm very pleased with the result and have certainly not experienced any loss of musicality.

Now it is time to sell my KRDS/1 and Boazu.

Re: Possible Upgrade

OK, so I'm not overly technical on these things, just having knowledge of they basic way they work.

Linn claims that a KDSM produces a better sound than a KDS in conjunction with a KK as it has an incorporated preamp, so what exactly are the concerns about losing the preamp component of the Boazu?

Re: Possible Upgrade

As far as I'm aware, that would involve buying a full Klimax streamer which would be far too expensive. I'm not sure how many K Renew DSM versions exist.

Possible Upgrade

Currently using K Renew DS/1, Lejonklou Boazu, M140

Possible upgrade route would be K Renew DSM/1 into Klimax twin or pair of Tundra monos.

Any opinions or concerns? Is there a better option. Am I overlooking anything?

Re: Next Upgrade

I have been using a Klimax Renew ds/1 played through a Boazu and M140 speakers for around 9 months now, and have been very pleased with the result. I now find that the main variance in musical quality comes from the source CDs and not the hardware.

Re: Third party controller software for Linn DS

I have now bought a licence for Bubble DS Next, which I did via the 'buy licence' link in the app on my tablet. However on my phone, the 'about/help', menu shows 'No Licence Found'. The app on the device clearly knows that I have a licence, because if I press the 'buy licence' option, I get a messag...

I have now been able to work how how to use this information. I have been informed that these urls can be added to Tunein favourites, but only on the android app and not on the windows website. So which URL have you added to TuneIn to get Radio Paradise in FLAC please Peter? There isn't a url yet f...

Re: Third party controller software for Linn DS

Go to "my apps" in your Google Play account. There you find apps you already paid for, such as BubbleDS. On my particular phone, Linn Kazoo hangs and crashes, otherwise it seems like a good app. I will try to reinstall it. When you do this, Bubble DS is there, and the page suggests you can download...
