Re: Gaio 2

Earlier this week I have extensively compared the new Gaio 2 with the original Gaio with a friend. My setup: LP12, Ittok LV3mk2, Trampolin2, Hercules, Adikt; Naim SuperUniti, Naim Allae. We played mainly 80s vinyl ranging from electro-pop, jazz to rock. I have sent Marco of Hexagon Audio here in the...

Re: Gaio vs Slipsik

Thanks Marco for the opportunity to compare the Gaio and Slipsik 6!
I also had a listen to the Boazu and Tundra Stereo in combination with the streamer/pre-amp of my Naim SuperUniti. The consistant sound signature of all components is very appealing to me.

Re: The New Lejonklou Streamer

External interconnections of streamer and DAC are challenging. One of the reasons is that the clock signal needs to be recovered at the DAC side from the digital data signal (in the case of coax and optical). Usually this results in higher jitter levels inside the DAC than at the on-board signals at...

Re: Gaio bass-shy?

Hi JPM! A high degree of control in the bass often feels like "less" and sometimes even "there's no bass on this song?" - until the bass really starts and one realises it's certainly there. This is exactly what I experienced and led to my conclusion! I look forward to the Slipsik to be available ag...

Re: Gaio bass-shy?

Today, I decided to keep the Gaio and sell the Rega. IMO the Rega is perceived to have more bass-drive due to the fact that the Gaio has much more control at lower frequencies. Sound already has improved further since I got it a week ago (brand new one). Also liked to compare with the Slipsik 6, but...

No Naim Ovator S400 floodstanders. You might be right on a truer picture indeed

Gaio bass-shy?

I have compared the Gaio to the Rega Fono MM mk2 and it is far superior on almost all aspects. However, it sounds a bit bass-shy compared to the Rega. Really low frequencies sound more controlled with the Gaio and are definately present, but with bass guitar and bass drums in rock music it seems to ...

I have compared the Gaio extensively with the Rega Fono MM mk2 The Gaio is far superior on all aspects. However, compared to the Rega it sounds a bit bass-shy. Allthough the really low frequencies are better controlled it still lacks some drive in the low area. Need to get used to the Gaio a bit mor...
