Re: Majik 109 Modification

Awesome to hear that this mod is having a positive impact in your listening experience. Years later, I'm still enjoying mine and remain reluctant to give them up. By the way, mine have been active since the mod.

Re: Majik 109 Modification

I don't think so as the woofer is not a stock Linn product. The woofers would have to be ordered seperately and then installed. Skill level to do this is pretty low. I would think that a repair shop could easily do it for you if you're uncomfortable with the task.

Re: Majik 109 Modification

I don't believe it was me that said they sounded brighter. That being said, a brighter sound is not what I would describe as my experience. I find there is better integration with the 2K array and to me the sound is a lot more satisfying. There are a lot a variables here and I believe that your mile...

Re: Majik 109 Modification

The level of skill to mod the woofers is quite low. The grill is easily removed by gently forcing it up along the edges using a fine nail or a strong safety pin - work your way around the woofer and it will eventually pop off. If I recall correctly, there are 6 screws which need to be removed which ...

Re: Majik 109 Modification

Those look good and fairly inexpensive. The primeacoustics are heavy with a metal plate in it. The ones you are looking at look like they may only be foam? Also, the PA come in angled versions which may compensate for the thickness?

Re: Majik 109 Modification

Hi Everyone, I didn't realize their was so much activity on this topic. There wasn't any activity on this topic for over 3 years. Just a few comments on this modification based on my experience over the last few years. I really love these speakers with the mod and would probably switched them had I ...

Re: Majik 109 Modification

It was a very easy swap. The screw alignment on the new woofers are exactly the same as the originals. Very easy to swap out. Each woofer was US $140. They are a big upgrade to the originals. My 109s are sitting on a pair of recoil stabilizers made by Primacoustic. They are essential for when you ar...

Majik 109 Modification

I thought I would pass on some information with regards to a recent modification I made on my Majik 109s. I was having problems with the woofer rattling a wee bit when playing certain types of music. The problem was repeatable and the problems remained even after changing channels on my amp. Even th...
