Hello folks,

Is there a viable upgrade for the Majik Isobarik stands like the Akubarik stands? Has anyone tried to have this built?
If so, I would appreciate information.
Best thanks
Chris

Back in the 80's & 90's Linn/Naim always stated TT, audio and speaker stands should be "Light Weight & Rigid", think Sound Org, Archidee, Audiotech & some early Targets. ...But I must admit, those do "look" great..

Agree, looks very professional. Reminds me a bit of the Ku-stones for Keiligh, Kaber and others.

Indeed they look very well and professionally made.
What is the material and weight?

Let us know whether it's not just a visual but also a musical upgrade.

They look quite nice. Similar in appearance to the 242 stands. I think it was really only the turntable stands they recommended be light and rigid. Most of the speaker stands, like the original Isobarik DMS, and certainly the Keltiks, were pretty heavy.

They look very nice but how many MIs were sold?

Ooooh...very nice indeed.
Any impressions of listening to them installed? (Have a pair of MIsos myself)

The beasts were made of 2.5cm thick aluminum plates. The spikes are the original ones from Linn. The weight per piece is slightly greater than 9kg.

They fit right away, thank goodness.

Besides the significant visual improvement, I now have an improvement in stability. With the wooden plates I had a clear wobble over the long side. The stands were dimensioned so that the distance of the spikes over the longitudinal axis and over the transverse axis is identical.

Now nothing wobbles anymore.

What did it do acoustically? Quite a bit. The bass is clearer and more accurate. The speaker seems much more coherent. Together with the space optimization, the bass hums significantly less. The speakers seem more controlled.

In my opinion, the modification was really worth it.

Looks fantastic - a visual upgrade as well as a sonic one (I hope).

Just looked at the cost for a 25 mm sheet of aluminum....ouch...not for me right now (seems that all my money is going towards buiding the new house...)

Looks very nice and I'm sure there is a musical improvement. Congratulations! Do you plan on doing any surface treatment?

I thought about having them anodized black but my wife refuses to do that.

That might be just as well. Everything I've heard is that black anodizing is a royal PITA and few companies can get consistent results. But a nice media blasting could give it that smooth, satin finish that you see on Linn's silver Klimax casework.

No. This was made by a guy I found on Instagram. He is based in Germany.

Those are probably the most beautiful Miso’s I have seen and am now very tempted to buy a pair. So I have few questions for you.

1. It looks like you modified the mid range with the SEAS woofer. Right?
2. Do the bases come with those 5 pillars?
3. Could you share the details of the fabricator who made them please. It’s not Basti is it?

Lastly what amp are you using for your miso’s? I would like to try them with a tundra and since you’re posting this on the Lejonklou forum the chances are high that you are also using a Lejonklou amp. If yes id love to hear your comments.
