I can see why valves are not the best match for a power amp but what about using them for a preamp? Are valves useless when talking about tunedem?

Hi CM
I know its not "traditional" but Im now using a Melody 1688 II pre with Linn solos - to my ears its a big improvement over the Kisto I had previously.
