You heard the name here first! LOL
Why not Kikkass :-|
I like it!
I am not quite sure what mythical sea creatures have to do with hi-fi, but I think Kraken would be a good name for a power amp. Fredrik is probably rolling his eyes right now! :o)
Why not just Kapow! if you're going for that angle? Or Kaboom? Although neither indicate much finesse. I'm afraid Klout will be hard to beat but there is always Kowabunga! ;-)
Just messing.
How about Klamp, krono, (no idea what that is, but lejonklou krono sounds great!), earthkwake (if you make a subwoofer), komplete, kolossless, kolossal, kekkon, kiltekk. Etc etc. ;

Many years ago I sent an email to Ivor and suggested the name "Kalas". It means "party" in Swedish He wrote back and said that he appreciated it but that is reminded him of the English word "callous" that I had never had heard. I still like it though :)

Never heard of the word Callous either. Had to look it up: Insensitive; indifferent; unsympathetic:
It sounds a bit like Careless when you say it. And seems to mean about the same too.
Thinking about it, I really don't like the idea of following Linn's "K and five letter"-concept. Lejonklou needs it's own concept and since the brand name itself is quite long and impossible to pronounce for an English speaker - why not go with names like that? Slipsik is a good start. :D
What do you non-Swedes (not just you English speakers) think about that as a concept? Is it cool in a eccentric way (like I hope) or just tiresome?
Why is it impossible to pronounce? Le jon klou, hardly difficult is it?
I get what you're saying about brand identity, but not the five letter statement. Klimax has six anyway! Just a bit of fun ain't it?

I don't think the K is all that important in itself, but agree people need to be able to pronounce the word without too much difficultly. As an English speaker, I find the word Slipsik a little strange, although easy enough to pronounce - maybe because it has 'sick' in it. It's very difficult to keep all nationalities happy. I recall when Lucent split off their PBX arm into Avaya, they didn't check what the word meant to the Japanese and its slang for something less than ideal, but I can't recall what.
