Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
It took some time listening to all three, but I finally finished. There are elements of both A and B that appeal to me, but it's difficult to say which is actually better sounding overall to my ears. The order for me could be either A followed by B, or B followed by A...with C being a distant third ...

Re: Tony Tune-age System
Thomas, Just in case you go with it, I know a couple of people that would be interested in a coffee mug, or polo shirt. By the way, in regard to the mugs and the polo shirts. The mugs were a project that sunbeamgls undertook with permission from Fredrik a few years ago. He made up a large batch and ...

Re: Tony Tune-age System
I'm glad to hear you are liking the upgrades to the system. I do find 1.7 vs. 1.4 to be quite compelling. Your SS was torqued based on Fredrik's latest findings in case you were concerned. Well, all of the Lejonklou upgrades I've had so far have been great and there isn't anything to dislike...that...

Re: Tony Tune-age System
Thanks for the report Tony. In my opinion it will take a while until the Sagatun develops full quality. But your description leads to the idea that the stereo Sagatun warms up a little faster than the monos. Since two components have received an upgrade, it will of course be a little more difficult...

Re: Tony Tune-age System
Well, it's been nearly ten days since receiving and installing the upgraded Lejonklou Entity 1.2 phono stage, and the Sagatun Stereo 1.7 preamplifier. Much of the burn-in time for the Sagatun was achieved by using my Linn Pekin turner (at a very low volume), primarily over night and when not using t...

I purchased these Lejonklou items when they were available back in 2021...but not sure if they will be offered again. Of course when I wear the polo shirt, people always ask me what Lejonklou means.

That's good news Hermann, the mystery is solved...congratulations! I've learned how important torque values really are in audio components. From cartridges to tonearms, preamps to speakers, and everything in between they do make a noticeable difference! Some people have a hard time processing the co...

Re: Tony Tune-age System
Yes, this can get confusing. I agree that the ranking of the stereo units is SS1.7, SK, SS1.4 musically (starting with the best). I also agree that Sagatun Mono 1.4 is yet more musical than all of those and the 1.7 better still, of course. Needless to say, Tony will be getting a nice upgrade when h...

Re: Pete's System
Forgot to mention that I think your system sounds great without sound absorbers. Maybe you should just leave it as it is. :-) Thanks! The speakers are not immobile, but they are as solid as I can make them without removing the carpet. I tried removing the skeets, but this did not make them less lia...

Re: Slipsik 8
To close the loop, I have now ordered a Slipsik and am very excited. ;) I seriously thought about staying with moving magnet cartridges for awhile, and if I had there's no doubt I would be using the Slipsik 8 phono preamplifier! And it can be used for some high output moving coil cartridges as well.

I got some good news today...my Entity has been upgraded to the 1.2 version, and is on the way home now. In addition, my Sagatun stereo preamplifier will be upgraded from 1.4 to 1.7 next week. And as previously stated by Herman, Thomas O'Keefe said the Sagatun 1.7 upgrade is very noticeable. And as ...

Good morning Hermann, Glad to hear you have the 1.7 upgrade, and I did read the most recent posts in your system thread...most interesting indeed. It's certainly a significant upgrade, with several parts and new specific torque values. As such, it probably takes a fair amount of time to complete eve...

I'm finally getting around to upgrading my Entity 1.1 to the 1.2 version. My intention was to get it done sooner, but I got busy with several other projects that needed attention. And of course the Sagatun Stereo Preamplifier has another upgrade offering as well, although I didn't know until today. ...

Re: Tony Tune-age System
I just found out from Thomas the other day there's another upgrade for the Entity 1.1, and the cost is really low! The turntable grounding section has been changed with different parts, and the idea comes from from the Singularity. And the sonic improvement is big enough to make the Entity a 1.2 now...
