Re: Sagatun and Sagatun Mono
Thanks a lot Tony That sounds really interesting indeed. In a bit longer perspective, my next upgrade may very well be going MC, from Adikt/Slipsik 8 to Krystal/Entity for my Akurate-ish LP12. But that's quite costly, so doing the upgrade of the Sagatun in the meantime sounds logical. I like to do ...

Re: Sagatun and Sagatun Mono
I have now perfromed a fair number of the 1.7 upgrades to both Sagatun Mono and Sagatun stereo units. The improvement is significant and easily worthwhile. Currently I have four customers who I did Tundra Mono 3 upgrades for and I offered them Sagatun Mono 1.7 upgrades to make their systems as music...

Re: Lejonklou Boazu Integrated Amp
Spannko and TMV, you will be at least partially happy. The Boazu 2 will definitely have the darker, more grey logo - Fredrik likes subtlety and is pretty obviously the king of anti-bling! Anything in that chassis will have the Källa logo look going forward just as the TM3 does. As to not having the ...

Re: Lejonklou Boazu Integrated Amp
Well, this has been quite confusing. I have to say I think Fredrik is partially the cause of this but he is quite busy so it is forgiven. I decided to start out by getting it clear in my own head so I RTFM! The Child Lock has nothing to do with the volume levels, it disables the front panel buttons ...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
This was a bit of a tough one and I went back and forth between A and B a lot. I don't care for C and found it a significant step below A and B. Both A and B are quite good and I have a hard time picking purely by tune method as there they are quite close there overall. At first I was leaning toward...

Re: Coaxial Cable Recommendations
Hi folks, which coaxial cable is recommendend if I need to use one? There are so many on the market, do not now what to get? Or to use Linn black interconnect as coaxial? I have no idea what is good, bad or indifferent in modern coaxial cables. Linn Black have worked OK for some customers. However,...

Re: ThomasOK's System
Am I right in thinking you listen to the Silvers individually Thomas? If so, have you found differences between cables from an original pair, resulting in new matched pairs consisting of two red or two black cables? Yes, I listened to each cable individually using a mono recording from the Källa to...

Re: Tony Tune-age System
By the way, in regard to the mugs and the polo shirts. The mugs were a project that sunbeamgls undertook with permission from Fredrik a few years ago. He made up a large batch and offered them to people on the forum with all profits going to charity (I don't remember the specific one). A number of p...

Re: David Neel's magical system
Definitely an interesting story on the changes, David. Your mention of the cable ordering reminded me that I had just done a bunch of Linn Silver cable comparisons last weekend with lovely results. So I posted that story in my system thread. These things do all make a difference and it is always nic...

Re: ThomasOK's System
I haven't posted here in quite some time it appears. My system has certainly changed since the last time I posted with the major upgrade to Tundra Mono 3s. In terms of major components I haven't had other changes since the Radikal 2 and Ekstatik. I did get some Trud shelves a while back and do find ...

Re: Tony Tune-age System
I'm glad to hear you are liking the upgrades to the system. I do find 1.7 vs. 1.4 to be quite compelling. Your SS was torqued based on Fredrik's latest findings in case you were concerned.

Agreed! I had the privilege of running-in 024 while my SMs made the same journey. There is an enthusiasm and exuberance about SK which captivates your attention and draws you into the music. Yes, I'm very pleased to have my SMs back after the 1.7 upgrade, and on the clips which Fredrik posted I pre...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I felt #2, 2857 was the most musical and tended to make me want to move with the music. I felt #3, 2857 lost that and to me #1, 2856 was the least enjoyable sounding. It added some bass weight but I felt it was too much and the rest of the spectrum didn't move as well. I think closer together may we...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I'm definitely liking the music coming through these, although I do miss the other notes. I have always loved Bouree and am big into Jethro Tull, at least up through most of the 70s. The bass has a very rounded, juicy quality that I quite like and the notes are easy to follow. You might want to loo...

A problem is that they will almost always only absorb some frequencies and not others so they can tend to mess th...

Re: Tony Tune-age System
Yes, this can get confusing. I agree that the ranking of the stereo units is SS1.7, SK, SS1.4 musically (starting with the best). I also agree that Sagatun Mono 1.4 is yet more musical than all of those and the 1.7 better still, of course. Needless to say, Tony will be getting a nice upgrade when hi...
