What I like? Efficient speakers have something special. Good dynamics and that lovely live feeling. A big woofer offer SLAM Always loved the JBL sound but never thought that it was possible to find a musical one. These seems nice! Re: Slipsik 6.1
It appears that one can't go wrong with any LP12 upgrade as long as it is either Linn or Lejonklou approved - and Gaio or Slipsik 6 may be the 'best value for money/ ease of installation' upgrades for an LP12 with Adikt. Sadly, not so sure regarding Linn nowadays... Slipsik at 35-40% of the cost, i...

Analogue signals: One device is connected to another = nobody dispute the fact that disturbances can enter the devices from the cable, affecting the performance. Digital signals: Suddenly... MOST people consider it impossible to affect the performance as long as the data is received correctly. I hav...

Re: The New Lejonklou Streamer
Bit perfect is no problem, correct data isn't (except you can still hunt for the best version of the file as in different mixes or rips of CDs), but when it starts moving, the challenge begins. Interesting that a lot of music enthusiasts prefer a very good cd transport to a NAS. Matt Well, normally...

Re: The New Lejonklou Streamer
We've gone much deeper into this than you think, doze84. In my opinion, Data integrity is never a problem. Optical transmission adds more problems than it solves. Asynchronous USB is not particularity good. It's not that difficult to get a nice sound. It's when trying to arrive at something really ...

For me it's the opposite, you either hear right away if it's better or not.
So for me a short demo is perfect.

Re: New LP12 Urika II phonostage and Lingo 4
Interesting photos! There is obviously more to it than the initial info from Linn mentioned. It appears to use the same photoelectric speed sensor as the Radikal and the same power switch as well. The new motor has the top and bottom flanges on the pulley allowing the removal of the belt bracket so...

Re: Could it be Christmas in January?
Don't worry. You will clearly hear when they reach the limit. Then you turn down a bit.
They still going to play LOUD with 242. Loud enough it's up to you but when you get used to their musicality it's almost impossible to downgrade to Twin.

Re: Could it be Christmas in January?
Good decision!
Going to be just great.
I once had KK/Mono/242. (The Mono replaced Solos and Mono is more musical)
Then save up for Sagatun Mono.(that was my next step after Monos)

After the discovery of some really strange parameters the project came to a halt. Hopefully a temporary one. But I still feel that a new angle is needed. Bad news for sure, but I hope you learned a LOT in "phase 1" if we can call it that... That wisdom is surely brought into "phase 2". As always, t...

Interesting that Linn launch a product which is inferior to its predecessor. I am wondering what would happen if they do the same with DS or LP12. Matt Well, they do that since many years. (DS Firmware, and before that Unidisk firmware) Today it’s all about features and hence...some FW are good, so...

Re: The New Lejonklou Streamer
Brian Lucey seems to be uninformed and/or incorrect. It appears to me as if you have misunderstood him. He's talking from experience how different formats behave and/or sound. And I think I understand what he means. I understand he is talking from experience, but he seem to be sure about the reason...
