Re: Tiger Paw Tranquility

Hi, As someone observed earlier I had an extended home dem of the Tranquility back in April with mixed results. It went back to The Sound Org (York) and I opted for a new bearing on my LP12 with great results... but that is another story that caused some flare ups on another forum! Anyway, enjoying...

Re: Tiger Paw Tranquility

I agree that neither is a wonderful sounding clip. However, the Tranquility clip is considerably less wonderful musically. With the other clip I can at least get into the flow of the music a bit and the cymbals aren't annoying. Nothing new or surprising to me here. In what way are the clips bad?

Re: Tiger Paw Tranquility

Hello all! I recorded those files on my LP12. IMHO the tranq allows more detail and timbre through as well as keeping the musicality of the LP12 intact. I've had it for a few weeks and then took it off.......in my system it's worse without! Some parts of the subtle texture of the music are lost, you...

Re: Analogue Innovations

I'm obviously a competitor to the sole but who claims it's 80% of a Keel? If it is then I might as well shut up shop. Andrew, Revisiting history, you were quite a fan of the earlier generation Sole sub chassis and it appears you ran one with a modified Ittok and Radikal and preferred it to the stan...

Tune Dem

We use the Tune Dem as our guide. It's not always the most 'hi fi' sound.

We use macro and micro hearing to listen to the overall sound and zone in on a particular instrument.

Just having 'more bass' etc. doesn't do it for us.

Prices are not too high for 80% of what a Keel does.

I thought it quite easy to hear which one had the suspension locked, what do you all think?

And here is one just because it sounds so damn fine!

Recordings of what exactly? An LP12 with and without his modification?

Could be interesting to hear, although I'm very sceptical about it.
They are of my decks suspension locked in the horizontal plain and of it free.

I agree!

Seriously we set out to improve the deck but keep its sound intact, glad you like it.

Hi hepcat! Thanks for breaking a long silence with your first post. Regarding RubiKon, is there any retailer in Scandinavia that has one? Not that I am aware of. But it would be nice to distribute them or something to Scandinavian dealers but I'll guess that it should need some money to do that. Bu...

Yes, congratulations, once again Andrew (and to your business partner), on another positive response from a very experienced / well-respected LP12 specialist. You should be well set now, and get good forum member support too, which can't hurt. Personally, I couldn't do what you and Fredrik and othe...

I have heard Kahn deck, sounded good. They have sent me one to try. I'll fit it to my deck and take pics and give a NO BULLSHIT review of the sound.

At the very least it gets rid of the bolts being mis-aligned due to the top plate bending.

Very cool! I'm impressed to hear that it comes so close to a Keel. Congratulations to AudioFlat! Thank you. We had two priorities:- 1. It had to keep the Linn sound and pass the 'tune dem' but be an improvement on the steel sub chassis. 2. It had to be of a quality that people with an LP12 would fe...
