Re: Setting up loudspeakers for the best tune
Yes thats 30 cm With your existing configuration of the Solidsteel tripods it doesn't seem possible to place the speakers closer to the wall. You have to turn the stands by 180 degrees to achieve that. OTOH, the speakers have a port on the back which might not be perfect for a set-up in close proxi...

Re: Setting up loudspeakers for the best tune
Reading advices on the internet they tell you to place the speakers about 60 cm off the wall behind. I placed the rounded backsides of my speakers ca. 30 cm from the wall and to me that’s quite an optimum for the bass. The Tune Method: “Try (read: Tune) Again. Fail Again. Fail Better.” As Beckett on...
Re: Slipsik 8
Hi Jo,
I think you might contact Marco at Hexagon Amsterdam for a listening session.
If not, try a private person to test a Slipsik. i myself play very happily with a 7.2.

image.jpg Iggy Pop, Summer Beach Festival, Zeebrugge, Belgium, 1994 Pete, I love your story about 35 mm photography and young ones who grew up in modern digitial times picking up their parents analogue equipment. Re: Vinyl Revival
I just came out of a tiny record shop in Stroud Gloucestershire that was packed with 20-somethings buying vinyl from the 70s and 80s. The last time I experienced this, I was one of the 20-somethings, and it was the 80s. Plus I bought 3 albums for a total of £15. It's like I'd time travelled back ne...

Idle Moments
Now that I ‘m playing ‘Idle Moments’ (Grant Green, Blue Note ST-84154) I am thinking about this new subject. According this forum we are busy with (new)audio devices, tweaking and upgrading to the best musical sound. But the moment we are happy enough with the musical qualities of our set up and we ...

Re: What’s Slam Got To Do With It?
Slam. I don’t know if I get your point, Spannko. Isn’t a good slam, wether it is pronounced wee, subtle or more forwarded, a vital part of tuneful musicality, essential to attract the listener to the music? If the source has slam and the set up and speaker can reproduce the slam as it is meant, I th...

Here's a practical listening exercise: Can you hear any difference between these two clips? It's perfectly OK if you can't! https://lejonklou.com/353.MOV https://lejonklou.com/352.MOV I cannot, maybe slightly less background noise in the second one. After a second listen, now during daytime I prefe...

Re: Linn 50th Anniversary
A video of an interview with Frank Murray, the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer at Linn in which he explains some of the design ideas behind the LP12-50. I note that the new Linn mantra of "eliminating noise and distortion" is present in this video as it has been in interviews with Gilad. It also ex...

With only 1 ‘Lejonklou North American Power Cord’ in the mix it feels like this discussion needs its own thread, especially as it’s getting off its own topic of power cords and into other cables, and is getting very AS centric… That (AS) is not meant to be, only that Zee is the first one talking ab...
